{"id":1457,"date":"2020-05-16T21:27:32","date_gmt":"2020-05-17T01:27:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/standrewsharlem.org\/blog\/?p=1457"},"modified":"2020-05-17T06:55:47","modified_gmt":"2020-05-17T10:55:47","slug":"5-17-the-sixth-sunday-of-easter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/standrewsharlem.org\/blog\/?p=1457","title":{"rendered":"5\/17 The Sixth Sunday of Easter"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Fear of the Unknown and the unknown god<\/span><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Paul saw a lot of things in the streets as he shared the Good News.\u00a0 And one thing struck him which spoke to the need of humanity &#8211; an inscription on one of the many altars he came across and which said it all: \u2018to an unknown god\u2019.\u00a0 In the streets, virtual and paved &#8211; of our now masked, \u201cnew normal\u201d world, fear of the unknown creates the desperate need for, and void of, answers and assurance.\u00a0 The void is vast and those who would fill it are legion, for blind fear drives the heart to grasp at almost anything. With the unknowing of god, our world bows to the idols of modernity which are pretty much the same that Paul encountered.\u00a0 Fear and its perpetuation proliferate where there is no certainty and the conflicting voices of the void ring out.\u00a0 But like Paul we share a God who we\u2019re not afraid to know or make known \u2013 a God for all.\u00a0 Let us pray for ourselves and our world and its void as we daily receive and share Him who stills all fear.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Know Jesus.
