The messenger of God\u2019s Strength -Gabriel – comes to Mary in today\u2019s gospel with a greeting that troubles her before she even knows the news he brings.\u00a0\u00a0 The awareness of God\u2019s favor, and having chosen her, is overwhelming.\u00a0\u00a0 And the news accompanying it, even more daunting.\u00a0 But Her questions are answered and Her response, grace filled:\u00a0 Here I am \u2013 let it be \u2013 according to your word, let it be.\u00a0\u00a0 Like Mary, we all have questions and each of us is chosen by God for a special purpose. \u00a0Advent is a time when we are reminded to quieten ourselves \u2013 to be at peace in that silent night, and pay heed to Gabriel\u2019s message of strength that God has for us:\u00a0 His strength and grace are sufficient for You \u2013 in whatever we\u2019re facing \u2013 and more importantly in all that He\u2019s calling You to do.<\/span><\/h6>\n
Father God, remove from our hearts all fear, skepticism and doubt.\u00a0 Inspire us with greater faith, love and confidence in your goodness and your will to provide us with all that we need to do the work you have prepared for us.\u00a0 Amen.<\/span><\/h6>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
